About Me
Psychotherapy
I have been practicing psychotherapy since 1991. I have been trained by Steve de Shazer, the founder of Solution Focused Brief Therapy and the Swedish psychiatrists and psychologists Dr. Anton Karshoutski, E. Salomon, A. Castenberg and A. Claesson. I have continued my training with Yvonne Dolan (United States), Bill O’Hanlon (United States), A. Aambo (Norway), Ben Furman (Finland), Marie-Christine Cabié (France), and Luc Isebaert (Belgium).
I was a private practitioner in Bulgaria from 1991 to 2002, and a psychologist at the Ministry of the Interior. Between 2007 and 2011, I worked at the Adult Mental Health Clinic in Gatineau. Since 2008 I have held a private practice in Canada.
Supervision
I have been providing trainings and supervision services beginning in Bulgaria in the 1990s, and continuing in Canada ever since. My supervisees have stated that they appreciate my creativity and ease in finding solutions based on the strengths of both the client and the therapist.
I maintain regular contact with the best professionals in the field of systems approach in psychotherapy at conferences in North America and Europe. I have conducted workshops at conferences of the European Brief Therapy Association. In collaboration with Scott D. Miller, one of the most prominent researchers in the field of common factors in psychotherapy, I have worked on the Bulgarian translation of the Outcome Rating Scale and the Session Rating Scale.
Conferences and Training
I have been teaching courses at the Université du Québec en Outaouais since 2003 in Work Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Psychological Health at the Workplace, Elements of Psychology Applicable at Work. I am an Emploi-Quebec certified trainer (Law 90). I have been leading conferences in the field of Psychotherapy and Work and Organisational Psychology. Activities with Organisations
My studies and qualifications in the field of Psychology (Master’s degree), Law and Security Policy (Third cycle studies) and management provided me with the opportunity to develop a unique approach to interventions with organisations. I have extensive experience as a consultant with private companies, government organisations, the police, European institutions, and international organisations.
